Travel habits are changing. Partly as a result of the pandemic, and partly for other reasons. Sri Lanka has already recognised this and is making it easier for visitors to obtain visas for six months or more. In 2021 Sri Lanka was voted the second best country in the world for digital nomads (Club Med survey). As well as digital nomads, there are families travelling the world while home-schooling their kids, and retired people who want to spend a whole winter away from the cold country they live in but can’t afford and don’t like hopping from one hotel to another for two or three months. There are writers and others who need space and time to complete a project or book.
Mulberry Cottage is a delightful and peaceful two bedroomed place down by our stream. It can be let on a self-catering basis, or you are welcome to book in for breakfasts and dinners at the main house whenever you choose. There is also a nearby hotel with a restaurant.
Mulberry Cottage sits next to the stream with its own garden area and streamside paved terrace. It has two bedrooms, one with double bed and the other with a pair of bunk beds. There is a bathroom, and a study area with desk. The kitchen has plenty of power sockets, a drinking water filter, a fridge with freezer compartment and a two ring gas cooker. Hot water is provided by a solar unit. Cleaning, bed linen and towels, electricity, wifi and gas are included in the price.
