We have long supported the TEA Project which works to empower the children of families who work on the local tea estates and are some of the most deprived in Sri Lanka. This Christmas we were delighted to be asked to host their annual staff and volunteers party. More than 20 people attended, with party games and lots of traditional English Christmas food starting with mince pies and ending with a range of yummy desserts.
The event brightened up what has, of course, been a much more low-key Christmas with no paying guests. Tourists are returning to Sri Lanka but mainly the kind who only want the beaches and nightlife in the south. But we are full of hope for 2022 and wish all readers of this blog a great new year. And special greetings to the TEA Project www.theteaproject.org
